Can I use "associated with", "linked to" and "related to" in my sentences below?

1.The mechanical stress that a pair of bellows can withstand is associated with the pressure level of the working conditions.

I'm finding it hard to get my head round this. Is "the pressure level of the working conditions" supposed to mean the pressure inside the bellows? Why is the (maximum) stress that the bellows can withstand related to this?
