The meanings of 'would's

Leslie, the ex-girlfriend of son-in-law of Senator Davis, is at his place for asking for a favor.

"Do you know Henry Chambers?" Leslie asked.
Senator Davis blinked, caught completely off guard. "Do I?Henry? Yes, I do. Why?"
"I would appreciate it very much if you would give me an introduction to him."

I'd like to know what the two "would"s mean here.

The second "would" is used instead of the standard simple past (gave) to indicate willingness (if you are willing to introduce me to ..."
