The meaning of "You"

"You go on without me" Why is there 'You' there. The speaker ordered him to go on without me. so I think we can say "Go on..." without putting "You", but we can see those kinds of sentences a lot. What is the purpose of putting "You" there? Thank you a lot and have a good day.
