Hi,

What is the meaning of would take years to satisfy in the following text?

The McCarthy campaign raised $1.9 million and spent every penny of it. The $500,000 note (promissory note) produced by Willy Benton and signed by twelve of the MTA directors would take years to satisfy.

Please note that MTA stands for Mississippi Trial Advocates.
