The meaning of " up and away"?

I am not sure about the meaning of "up and away" in bold. Does it mean that either success or fail?

After another flop in the America market, Jackie returned to and directed and starred in the smash hit “ Police Story”. Jackie went on to make four sequels, thus showing how successful the movie was. From there it was only up and away. One hit followed the other.
