The meaning of this sentence ??

But I fit into my new surrondings perfectly, like a jar of a white cream on a mirrored vanity shelf.  What is the meaning of this sentence?

Top answer

Like an expensive jar of some sort of facial/cosmetics cream on the shelf of an expensive place to store your cosmetics. It just means the person felt they were they were supposed to be - they "belonged" there. This is NOT a standard idiom.
