The meaning of the words 'engine note'

Good evening

I have a question about words in an example of Collin dictionary online when it appeared in the definition of the word 'halt' which is ;

The engine note changed as the aircraft landed, taxied and halted.

I couldn't find what 'the engine note' means anywhere in that dictionary as well.

Would you be so kind as to give me an idea what 'engine note' which is the subject of this sentence means? Thank you in advance.
