the meaning of the verb 'find'

A:How are you finding your new apartment?
(a) it's quite nice.
(b) through realtor

why (b) could not be a possible answer? you never use the verb 'find' when you try to look for a house or APT?
If you want to know how your friend's apartment huting is going, how do you ask her/him (using the verb 'find', if possible)?
what kind of question would be proper for the an answer like (b)?

We do not normally use it in the progressive aspect when find means locate (as in B). We do use it commonly in progressive when find means feel or perceive . How are you looking for your new apartment?
