The meaning of 'run' in this case

I found this example in dictionary."Running a car is a big expense."
Does that mean "Keeping/Owning a car is a big expense"? Or does it just mean 'run' such as 'rush'?
Thanks.

It means all the expenses related to owning, maintaining, and operating a car. It has no connection to rushing.
