The meaning of "reps"

The last couple of weeks I have seen the following in the British press.

...the wave of hooliganism which has seen British holidaymakers and holiday reps arrested.

What do they mean by saying reps? I know of reps as in the abbreviation of 'representative' and also repps as in the type of fabric but never in the form used in the Telegraph. Surely if the author was writing about sales consultants on holiday he would have stated "sales reps."

Is this a British colloquialism or am I just really stupid?

Thanks in Advance,

Suzie.
