The meaning of "power"

Dear teachers,

The following is an excerpt from a transcript: (sources: https://singjupost.com/samsung-galaxy-s8-unpacked-2007-launch-event-full-transcript/)

And speaking of incredible new tools that put the control in your hands, I want to introduce you to new Samsung experience that bridges the gap between the desktop and mobile. Over the past few years we’ve seen a transition from traditional computers to mobile devices, and yet some things are just faster and easier when you’ve got a monitor, mouse and keyboard, like when you need to edit a presentation. That’s why we created Samsung DeX. It’s a new productivity tool that lets you power a desktop experience right from your phone.

  • The word, "power," in the last sentence in the above paragraph is difficult for me to understand, when I just referred to the dictionary and stick to the meaning literally.
  • This is a kind of metaphoric expression - though not clearly expressed in the dictionary?

Thanks and best regards,

David Kim

This is a kind of metaphoric expression - though not clearly expressed in the dictionary? Yes, or rather business slang. 'Power' there just means 'produce, generate'.
