The meaning of 'HIT'

Hi all,

I have a qucik question about the meaning of the verb 'hit' in this sentence -- "Hero, a Japanese blockbuster set to hit Korean theaters on Nov. 1, may not strke many Korean viewers as a masterpiece"

I just guess that it might mean "be released". Is that right?

Thanks for your help in advance. Have a good day!!
