The Meaning of "Espana Cani"?

Hello, All:
A well-known piece of Spanish music is Pascual Marquina's (1873 -
1948)"Espana Cani", and this is one of my favorite pieces. But what isthe meaning of the word "Cani"?
I cannot find it in a Spanish dictionary, and I also asked a cultured fellow from Spain and he could not tell exactly, either.

So what does "Espana Cani" mean?
Thank you!
