I wonder what the "bow" means in this context: The song became the highest bow for a UK act's debut U.S. singles chart entry.

It's a fairly obscure and, as far as I'm concerned unacceptable, use that means the first song that the act has released for the public to hear. In this case it would seem to be the first time the act has released a song to the U.S. market.
