The meaning of "bounce out of the way"

Dear all,

Could you help me with the question below. Thank you.

I am not sure the menaing of " bounce out of the way" in the follwoing sentence. Does it mean that the turkey is bounced to the original place where it tried to bite my dad.

The turkey flew at my dad and tried to bite him. My das just kicked it and it bounced out of the way.

Hi,

It was in front of your dad. He kicked it. It went up in the air, came down again, and went up again. When it landed again, it was no longer in front of him.
