The meaning of "be provided by".

Hi there,

I read a sentence that goes "Yet some idea of Chinese architecture is provided by the polychromed, glazed earthenware models of the traditional multistoried buildings that are found in Chinese tombs". Could anyone explain the meaning of "be provided by" in this context?

Many thanks.
