The meaning of "apparently".

When a guy said"Apparently,Johnathan won the first prize.",the guy meant"Obviously,the winner is Johnathan"or"I heard that Johnathan won the first prize"?
According to Cambridge Dictionary,the word"apparently"means something seems to be true ,or just familiar with actually.
