The meaning of ‘a restroom graffiti’
The passage below is from Pipe Dreams by Chelsea Wald.
Those who write on shithouse walls
Roll their *** in little balls
Those who read those words of wit
Eat those balls of little ***
—“Traditional” restroom graffiti
This restroom humor seems to focus more on rhyme or rhythm than meaning.
Its meaning seems to have some nonsense itself. (Am I right?) But whether it lacks some serious meaning or not, I’m still curious about its meaning.
To me the graffiti seems to ridicule both those writing graffiti while moving their bowels and those reading it doing the same thing. (Am I right?)
Because toilet humor tends to be silly, both writing and reading it also tends to be silly, the former like they are rolling their poops into little balls and the latter eating those balls of poops.
(Am I right?)
Thanks in advance.
It isn't "a" graffiti in your excerpt. It is probably best to keep "graffiti" a mass noun and say "a piece of graffiti" for a single instance. She used it as a mass noun.
