The Marcu's or the Marcus (a family)?

So, simple question here. I'm proofing an important document and just want to confirm what I'm assuming needs to be changed.

When talking about a family, the Marcu family, even though making it plural changes the name to a readily known name (Marcus), I still don't use an apostrophe, right? I just change it to "the Marcus," right?

I really shouldn't second guess myself! Emotion: stick out tongue

An unfortunate circumstance, but no apostrophe.

Here's a suggestion about how to deal with a potentially confusing situation like this. Instead of "...of the Marcus," write "...of the members of the Marcu family."

Hey, thanks for the confirmation, guys. I think I will recommend that he re-word the sentence using something very similar to your recommendation. That should clear it up.

This is a great forum. I love it!
