The Marching Morons

Hello Guys,

I currently reading this short story named "The Marching Morons". I was intrigued with the plot of this story so I decided to give it a try. Now, I am not a native English speaker, but I am can speak and understand well. However, the English in this book is way above my level and so I am having difficult in understanding most of the explanations. Even after looking up the meanings of some words in dictionary, I find it difficult to understand the context.

Can you guys please help me; suggest me what I can do to understand this story better?
