The main function of a university

Nowaday,an increasing number of citizens are concerned about the purposes that universities bring to students.However ,whether they should mainly provide pure knowledge or pay attention to job-related skill to graduate triggered heated controversy.From my point of view,practical skills should be the main focus of universities.

First,It is obvious that the pivotal aim of trainers after graduating is to earn a good job in the future.This means that equipping learners with knowledge and skills which enable them to become qualified and confident employer in the job market after graduatin shoulb be given priority.So,universities should take real skills into consideration.

Moreover,universities,de facto,should be a place not only to impart knowledge but also play a role in supplying students with life skills which assists student in acclimatizing with difficulties to become more responsible and strong.Life is full of dilemmas and sophisticated case, so life skills at universities hold an important part in preparing for students experiment to withstand with challenge at the entrance of life.

That is not to say that schools should not teach bookish knowledge for students .For example,of course;there are some students who have the head for subjects such as :Maths ;Science and so on and they can become Mathematics or scientists who make great contributions to our society.But still ,job-realted skills are more important for most of students.

In sum,real skills should be given prior by most of universities as the main function.Meanwhile ,bookish lessons also should not be ignored.
