"Would you be kind enough to let us know the date of your arrival?"
the intrinsic meaning of logic :
Would you be kind to the degree, the degree is completely necessary / essential for the existence, success of letting us know the date of your arrival?
-----the degree is needed for letting us know the date of your arrival

The sentence is contrast with it, that "I will help you as far as I can."
the intrinsic meaning of logic:
I will help you to the degree in which I can help.
------the degree shows the subject or activity in which I can help.
