The location of much

(a) Why don’t we take a taxi?.

(b) We’d better take a taxi.

-> (a) sounds a suggestion to a hearer while the speaker of (b)shows a strong will to take a taxi without considering a hearer’s opinion much

Is the position of much alright? or should I rephrase with another word?
