The loading

Hello.
During the loading, several items were damaged.
Is the article okay there grammatically? I've noticed that for some reason English speakers omit the definite article before such terms as "during takeoff", "during landing", "please prepare for landing". I am not sure why that is.

Is it correct: "During the loading, several items were damaged".

I mean a specific act/event of loading, it's a noun.

Thank you.
