requested is possible but probably too formal in a son-mother conversation
Also, there's no reason for using the past perfect there. The sequence of events is perfectly clear.
As for idiom, the list can pass 150, but it can't cross it. Lists are long, not tall. You don't request someone to do something; you request that they do it. You ask someone to do it.
