Overall, there was a decline in the amount of oil using every day in the USA and Western Europe & Japan; conversely, China and the Middle East witnessed a remarkable increase after 21 years. In addition, the USA consistently had the highest figures throughout the period, despite its downward trend.

The number of oil barrels consumed in the USA started at about 9 million barrels per day, after which it reached a peak at 10% by 2004; however, the figure is predicted to constantly drop to under 8 until the final year. Similar changes, but to a lesser extent, were seen in Western Europe and Japan, with the first year’s figure was 4 million of oil barrels and will hit a trough of 2 units in 2030, becoming the lowest number to be seen in four regions examined.

2 million of oil barrels were used by the Chinese people each day, then witnessed a subsequent jump to reach its zenith at 4 million in 2025 and then slightly drop to roughly 3.5 million. Likewise, the figures for the consumption of oil in Middle East countries saw an upward trend throughout the years, increasing from 2 million at first to approximately 3 million in 2025, surpassing that of Western Europe & Japan and rising continually before ending at roughly 3 million in the year of 2030.
