Hello every body.

Can we say The light came on at the top of the front steps and the door opened?

I think there is something wrong . Did the light from inside the house make the steps light? Or was the door opened and the light from inside made the steps light?

it sounds to me like the light was outside the front door, probably attached to the wall.

A native speaker normally assumes that A happened and B happened means A happened first.
