The language of tears
Hello everyone! 
I wonder if I could have this exercise corrected, yes, seems that I decided to study with books by doing exercises. I prefer learning in a "free" way, but, I can't.
Okay, I have to choose between four words to fill in the gaps, don't get terrified if they are all wrong, I'm awful!
The ability to weep is a uniquely human form of emotional response. Some sientists have suggested that human tears are (0) evidence of an aquantic past - but this does not seem very likely. We cry from the moment we enter this (1) world, for a number of reasons. Helpless babies cry to (2) communicate their parents that they are ill, hungry or uncomfortable. As the (3) develop they will also cry just to attract parental attention and will often stop when they get it.
The idea that (4) having a good cry can do you (5) good is a very old one and now it has scientific (6) validity since recent research into tears has shown that they (7) contain a natural painkiller called enkaphalin. By (8) fighting sorrow and pain this chemical helps you to feel better. Weeping can increase the quantities of enkaphalin you (9) produce.
Unfortunately, in our society we impose restrictions upon this naturally (10) treating activity. Because some people still regard it as a (11) sign of weakness in men, boys in particular are adminished when they cry. This kind of repression can only increase stress, both emotionally and physically.
Tears of emotion also help the body (12) rid itself of toxic chemical (13) remains, for there is more protein in them than in tears resulting from cold winds or other irritants. Crying comforts, calms and can be very enjoyalbe - (14) consider the popularity of the highly emotional films which are commonly (15) called 'weepies'. It seems that people enjoy crying together almost as much as laughing together.

Regarding "develop" and "evolve" - one person will develop in a lifetime. The species may evolve over hundreds of generations.

I don't understand why it should be "inform", don't babies communicate in the language of tears because they are not able to speak?
"Opposing", I thought it meant something like "to be against", so, that's why I wrote "fighting".
I'm not sure I understand, "develop" is for humans" and "evolve" for the rest of human beings? What about a project? It depelops, rig

the fighting/opposing pain part is quite odd. These are the two best choices but neither of them is really natural.
'communicate their parents' - this is incorrect as it would need to be 'communicate to their parents'. Without the 'to', inform is the only choice that fits here.

Hmm..I think I understand, so, there was the clue, I mean, not having "to" in the sentence!:)
What about the 9th answer? I wrote it was "produce" but, what if the text would have had "our body" before the word? "Weeping can increase the quantities of enkaphalin our body provides us." Could "provide" fit there?

Well, in my opinion and as Linguistics regards, 'Crying' is the first stage in the development of language. It is a primordial reflex. It doesn't communicate anything because it lacks of words. Thus, information and communication are not its aim.
