The interpretation of two difficult sentences

The protagonist is one of Amber's princes. His royal family members are half immortal.
His eyes were removed by being thrusting with hot iron rods into eye sockets.
And he is now confined in a cell deep beneath Amber's palace.

There was absolutely nothing I could do. That was the most horrible part of the whole thing. I was as helpless as embryo. To be born again into sight and fury was a thing for which I would give my soul. Even for an hour, with a blade in my hand, to duel once again with my brother.
[Nine Princes in Amber" of The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny]
I'd like to know if I can interpret the underlined sentence as the following.
: "If I were born again into sight, if so, fury was a thing for which I would give my soul. Even for an hour, if I had blade in my hand in order to duel once again with my brother."

Thank you in advance for your help.

No. I would give my soul to be born again with the ability to see and to take part in violent action. I would give my soul to be able to do this even for just an hour in which I could duel once again with my brother with a blade in my hand.
