The -ing form after conj. or prep.?

1. I always have the radio on while doing the housework. (while is a conjunction)

2. On hearing the news, they left at once. (on is a preposition)

3. After working all evening, John felt tired.

In #3, is the word "after" a conjunction or a preposition?
