Hi
Is the underlined part natural English? Any suggestions are welcome.
The inflow of the traffic was so strong that it was impossible to cross the road.
Thanks,
Tom
It was heavy, not strong.

I suppose both of these sentences carry the same flavor? Which one do you find better?
The inflow of the traffic was so heavy that it was impossible to cross the road.
The oncoming traffic was so heavy that it was impossible to cross the road.
Tom
We don't use 'inflow' for traffic. You might say 'oncoming', which means coming towards you.
We speak of a lot of traffic as 'heavy', not 'strong'.
eg There was so much oncoming traffic that it was impossible to cross the road.
eg The traffic was so heavy that it was impossible to cross the road.
