The indicative mood v.s. the second conditional

Hello everyone. I have a question.

Regarding the following two sentences:

(A) One can hardly imagine what a world without language is like.

(B) One can hardly imagine what a world without language would be like.

I'm pretty sure that (B) is grammatically correct because "a world without language" is something which is only in the realm of imagination. But I'm not sure about (A). It is still possible? Does it sound natural?
