The Indefinite Article "a" Or Zero Article

Hello everyone,

Is either the indefinite article "a" before the phrase or zero article correct before the phrase "bad weather" as follows?

1. The flight was cancelled because of a bad weather.

2. The flight was cancelled because of bad weather.
