The indefinite article

Hello

Could you tell me please if I can say it gives me a great pleasure (to do smth.,etc.) using the indefinite article? I have heard for a few times people saying it using 'a'

Or is it not correct? Should I only say it gives me great pleasure with no article?

Thank you!

Both are commonly said.

And if there is a converstion, for example:

A: Do you like reading?

B: Yes, I do.

A: Why?

B: It gives me great pleasure./ It gives me a great pleasure?

The previous answer was that both were commonly used. Who is right? :-)

While the version without the article is more correct (after all "pleasure is an uncountable noun in this sense) the one with the article is quite common and is considered acceptable.
