Essay & Composition Writing

The increase in people's life expectancy means that they have to work older to pay for their retirement. One alternative is that people start to work at a younger age. Is this alternative a positive or negative development?

Nowadays, the trend towards more senior citizens is proceeding at an accelerated pace, thus forcing people to stay longer in the workforce. However, i completely agree that people should be engaged to employment as soon as possible.

Undoubtedly, old workers have a large number of disadvantages in the keen competition. First, the intellectual ability of workers would not remain the same as they are young. As a result, the efficiency of work has been affected to a larger extent. Secondly, there is a perception that senior employees are likely to impede the promotion of young employees. Indeed, an increasing number of younger workers are not given opportunities to put their potential to the maximum. Consequently, business can not take full advantage of talent young employees and seem not to be innovative because of senior workers' conservative decisions.

Participating in the workforce from young age presents benefits in some aspects. Firstly, young employees who are creative and passionate can contribute greatly to the society in term of economical development. In fact, a large number of influential people are still very young and their contribution to the society is prominent. Of equal importance is that if people can start work at a young age, they can be ensured with better financial security in the future. Bill Gates, for instance, he quitted the university and started up an information technology company, then became the richest man all over the world spending the rest of his life as a founder of charity funds.

For the reasons mentioned above, i believe that it is really beneficial for people who can be evolved in the workforce at a young age.
