The idiom, "It's all gone to the head."

As I watched a television show, Friends, one of the main actors said "It's all gone to the head". I have not understood what is the meaning of it. The situation was like this. Loss, a paleontologist, became famous for his new theory and then he braged himself. When Joy, another actor in Friends, said "I've never seen anyone who praised himself so much!", Rachel respond to him," Yeah, I guess it's all gone to his head." If somebody knows the meaning of it, let me know about it.
