Hi everybody
i wrote a paragraph about the history of UK briefly ,trying to include the most important events. and i got information from different sources , and it is the first time for me to know such information.
please correct any mistake and add any important event.

To understand the UK political system very much, it is necessary to know the history of the UK. There was a struggle to shift political power from the powerful king, who claimed that he obtained his right to rule from God, to a national parliament that was increasingly representative of ordinary people and accountable to ordinary people. After the English Civil War (1641–51) the monarchy handing over all its power to Parliament a process helped by the fact that George I and II barely spoke English and didn’t much care for governing Britain anyway and incidentally resembled Thomas Hobbes’ conception of government. Another important event in the british history is the 1688 Glorious Revolution, sometimes known as the “Bloodless Revolution,”, this revolution characterized by the struggle between king and Parliament, and most notably, between Catholic and Protestant. It resulted the overthrow of King James II of England by a union of English Parliamentarians with william of Orange or (William III). Its main results was The Bill of Rights of 1689 a document that limited the power of British monarchs, and with this document the Parliament was established as the main power in government. For England, the days of tyrannical monarchy were over. A constitutional monarchy had been born.
