the hell with hockey?

In the TV series Friends, Joey is excited about watching hockey. So he says:"The hell with hockey! Let's all do that!"

Would you like to explain what this sentence exactly means? I also found the phrase "the hell with" hard to understand. Please say something about this.

Thanks a lot.

Joey, like many men, like the idea of two women together, so he says "let's all do that", refering to Ross when he says he'll go home and think about his ex wife and her lesbian lover.
