The hair styles "bob" and "mop top"

Are the hair styles "bob" and "mop top" similar? Is the word "mop top" still used nowadays?

Thank you.

They seem to be similar hairstyles but for different sexes: Bob : a woman's hairstyle in which the hair is cut short to an even length at the level of the chin or neck. The Beatle haircut, also known as the mop-top (or moptop) —because of its resemblance to a mop—or Arthur amongst fans, is a mid-length hairstyle named after and popularised by the Beatles. It is a straight cut - collar-length at the back and over the ears at the sides, with a straight fringe (bangs).

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I didn't know they are separated and used by sexes.

I wish I could ask a clerk such as "Would you cut my hair to The Beatle haircut/mop-top, please?"

By the way, could you please tell me who Arthur is? Thank you.

I would like to ask a barber such as "Would you cut my hair to The Beatle haircut/mop-top, please?"-- You can say that if the barber is over 40 years old.

By the way, could you please tell me who Arthur is? -- John Lennon (or maybe it was Ringo Starr) was asked by a reporter, 'What do you call your haircut?' and John/Ringo answered jocularly 'Arthur', as if the haircut h

Thank you. I would try to say that. Emotion: wink

I think "to" should be added behind "like", but is it wrong?

Therefore I don't think I can ask that, but it is good if I can do. Was the sentence "I wish I could..." unnatural there?-- Your sentence is grammatically OK, but there is still a chance of your asking a barber somewhere: this is a small world. 'I wish I could' sounds a bit sad and hopeless to me...about a topic that is rather trivial.
