There was a rapid rise in the percentage of UK teenagers who chose a vegetarian diet from 1960 to 1980. The percentage of UK teenagers following a vegetarian diet increased slightly from 0 percent to 12 percent between 1960 and 1975, after which this percentage increased significantly by 16 percent in 1980.
However, the year from 1981 to 200 saw a quick decrease in the percentage of UK teenagers who choose a vegetarian diet. The rate of United Kingdom adolescents following the vegetarian diet increased rapidly between 1970 and 1980, and this was followed by a sharp fall from 1981 to 2000.
