The line graph shows the data about the proportion of smoking in someland both women and men from 1960 to 2000.
Overall, while the rate of smoking in men increased slightly, there was a downward trend in the rate of smoking in women.
It is clear that in the 1960s, the rate of smoking in women was the highest point, reaching approximately 600. However, throughout the remainder of the period, there was a significant decrease in the rate of smoking women which fell to over 300 in the 2000s but it was higher than that of men over the period.
Over the same period, the rate of smoking in men fluctuated more considerably than that of women. From 1960 to 1970 there was a slight increase of 200 in the rate of smoking men. Similarly, in 1975s to 1985s, the figures for men witnessed a growth rise to 300. By contrast, it started to decline gradually to 200. However, over the period the rate of smoking men saw an experienced increase.
