After 2 decades, the number of people who were aged 65 and over in USA and Sweden slightly increased to 10 % and 8%, respectively. However, this figure for Japan downed until 1980, accounted gor approximately 3%.

From 1990 to 2010, the percentage of people who were aged 65 and over in USA decreased from 15% to 13%. In comparision, the proportion of elderly people in Japan and Sweden significantly rose to 7% and 20%, respectively.
