The line graph compares the proportion of Australian exports to Japan, China, India and the US between 1990 and 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the export to Japan started at the highest rate, however China overtook Japan at the end of the period.
Looking at the graph more closely, in 1990 the largest proportion of export was from Japan which accounted for 27 percentage, it was almost doubled the percentage of the US. Japan rate dropped to 20 percentage and continued fell to 17 percent in 1995 and 2012 respectively. Although the proportion of the US started quite high at 11 percent, its market value fluctuated. The percentage of export to the US at the end of the period was 7 percent.
By contrast, exports to China and India began as low as 1 and 2 percent respectively. However, China growth rapidly and took over Japan reached a peak of 28 percent in 2012. The proportion of India was also fluctuated, these increased overall to 5 percent in 2012.
