The line chart illistrates how many books man and women read at Burnaby Public Library from 2011 to 2014.
As can be seen clearly, during 2011 to 2013,the number of books read by women was always higher than men's.However,after a year.this number decreased rapidly and had distance with men's.
In 2011, the number of books women read started at around 3000 .After , it rised quite quickly.Having the same trend, there was a moderate growth in 2013 and got the peak at 10000 in the same year. However, women read much less books in the last year (2014).The number of book they read decreased dramatically to 8000.
In term of men,in the first year,they read less books than women.Nevertheless, there was a slight increase in the number of books men read of 1000 after a year. And then,in 2013,this number rised hurriedly to 10000 and got the same point with women.However, there was a speedy growth in the number of books men read and got the highest point at 14000 in 2014.At this time, the gap of the number of books between men and women read was the highest.
Overall, there was a strong upward trend in the number of books read by men. Although women read more books than men in 2011, their reading fell to below the level of men in 2014.
