Overall, it can be seen that the average number of Vietnamese students studying increased over the period shown, the opposite was true for Russia. Also, the figure for the US was the highest rate among these countries.
In 2000, Vietnamese students who studied in France were the highest, with just over 3.5 million compared to almost 3 million in Russia and nearly 1.5 million in America. During 2000-2005, the number of students studying in France and Russia witnessed a significant increase of about 1 million. By contrast, the figure for America increased to roughly million in 2005.
In 2015, there was an average of approximately 5 million students choosing to study in the US. However, the figure for France experienced a stability until 2010, then it increased dramatically to about 4.5 million in the last year. At the same time, the average number of students in Vietnam studying in Russia hit the lowest point of below 2 million in 2010 but recovering to around 2.5 million at the end of the period.
