The line graph illustrates the proportion of vehicle registration of three most common types of commercial vehicles in America from 1970 to 2010.
Overall, it is clear that whereas the percentage of both truck and bus registration declined, the opposite was true of taxi registration increased. Additionally, the proportion of truck registration was highest over the period shown.
In 1970, at about 48% of vehicle registered was truck. In the similar period, the figures for taxi and bus were lower, at 23% and 5% respectively. Over the following a decade, there was a dramatic fall of 18% in proportion of truck registration. By contrast, the percentage of bus registration rose noticablely to 15%, and taxi’s figure reached a peak of 35% in 1980, which surpassed in the other lines in the same year.
In 2010, the figure for truck saw an upward trend. To be more specific, the percentage of truck registration increased considerably to 45%. Simulaneously , the proportion of taxi registration stayed unchanged, at 35%, and the figure for bus decreased remarkably and was much lower than that of truck and taxi, at approximately 3%.
