The graph demonstrates the information about the Australia’s energy consumption in five different categories since 1980 and the predictions until the years of 2030.
At the first glance, it is immediately obvious that there is an upward trend for all kinds of fuels from and this trend is forecasted to keep on to 2030.
The crucial source of energy was oil. In 1980, there were approximately 35 billion units were used. This consumption decreased marginally to 30 billion units by 1990, after which this figure experienced a significant growth to roughly 45 billion units. On top of that, it is anticipated to continued to rise and hit the point of 50 billion units in the next 20 years.
Coal and natural gas were the second largest amount of use. In 1980, there were respectively 18 billion and 20 billion units of them which were consumed. Especially, the usage of coal and gas went up steadily to the same point, at 25 billion units. They are both expected to climb to 35 billion and 28 billion, respectively in 2030.
The lowest consumptions were two sources of renewable energy, namely nuclear and solar, which were below 5 billion units in 1980, and these were followed by a marginal rise to 9 billion and 7 billion units, respectively. In 2030, they are predicted to reach about 10 billion and 8 billion units, respectively.
