"Grammar is different" is a general statement, and it's meaningless here. Compare it to other more or less meaningless sentences:

Sugar is different.  —  This is a general statement about sugar.  All sugar is different.  Different from what?  Different from salt? It doesn't say.  It makes no sense.
Milk is different.—  This has the same problem.  Different from what?  Different from wine?  Different from water?  It doesn't say.
The same applies to Grammar is different.  —  All of grammar, the entire topic of 'grammar', is different.  But different from what?
