I am very sorry for the long text that follows, but that is the only way I can ask my question.
There is this Portuguese traditional game that I need to describe in a paper:
A group of kids sit down in a row (usually on the sidewalk) facing another kid who has a ring hidden in his hands. This kid hides the ring inside his hands, put together, folded like in a prayer ( ). The other kids in the group also have their hands put together, folded like in a prayer, but empty inside. Then the 1st kid gets near the row and passes his closed hands inside the other kids’ hands, one by one, along the row. He secretly drops the ring inside one of their hands. Then he asks who has the ring and one by one they have to name someone. Those who can’t name the true ring holder will have to suffer some kind of punishment. Is there any traditional kids game similar to this in US or UK? Thank you.
