the future concerns

Is chapter 8 talking about "the matters that might comprise the concerns that artists and scientists already have about the future of art and science" or "the matters that might comprise the concerns that artists and scientists will have in the future". I think the latter interpretation is OK. Am I right?

Context:

Chapter 8 addresses what might well become the most crucial matter for the future concerns of both artists and scientists.
